Personal report

Another selfportrait in another Windlight sunset

Another self-portrait in another Windlight sunset, originally uploaded by Raul Crimson.

Surely now you know i like to write a post sometimes as a resume of what is happening in my Second Life, even sometimes they can be a bit confusing. That is one of those… ;-)

I’m feeling OK, not so much time on last week (had things to do in RL) but the time i was on was fun to have time with some friends (specially a totally crazy evening with Keiko and Ilian), taking some pictures, and work in some “business” (new offers at the store, some custom work, …).

With Soldeus, i feel really OK, maybe sometimes we have small misunderstoods (different languages, he he he), but we enjoy each other, having time together when we both can and want, understanding we need our own space as creators and respecting each other. No partnership, no promises, just enjoy our time together being truthful with each other.

I’d like to talk a bit about something i saw lately in some dear friends: They feel bad because there is a difference between what they want to be, or what they think they are, and the perception the others have about them, or what the others expect them to be or act. I was talking with friends about it, and i will say here what i said them all: “Be truthful to yourself, to what you think, to what you want or need (always respecting the others, of course). If the others like it, perfect, if not, sorry, but they should build a bridge and go over it.” Sorry if i seem radical about this, is just i want my friends (and myself) to feel good, and to feel good you don’t have to care about what others think or this can make you really unhappy.

About creation, photography and all that….. some projects in mind, i’m building a new gallery, but the project is still a work in process, so i don’t want to post about it for the moment. Anyway, next post will be about one exhibition is on right now.

Nostalgia, a Windlight setting by AM Radio

AM Radio, the creator the The Far Away (AKA The Wheatfield) (SLurl), posted a really nice image and was the first resident i know to share a Windlight sky setting with all.

You can touch the link to the image to have more information, anyway, i made part of the work to help and make it a bit easier:

  • Download the file Nostalgia.xml here or in the BOX widget in the right side column of this page.
  • Then move the file Nostalgia.xml to the following folder:
    • In a Windows PC move it to C: \ Program Files \ SecondLifeWindLight \ app_settings \ windlight \ skies

    • In Mac go to the Application folder or to the one you have the Second Life Windlight viewer, Ctrl+click it and select “Explore the package” or something like that (sorry, my Mac OS X is in spanish). Then open the folders Windlight, app_settings, windlight, skies and save the file there (I’ll try to update this info checking better my Mac).

  • Restart Windlight viewer.
  • Select Nostalgia in the Sky Presets menu.

Sorry, i don’t know how to do in it Linux, but sure someone can comment here and give the info.

I’d like to say from here thanks again to AM Radio for sharing this with all the residents and to remind you that The Far Away is part of a fund rising for a charity that promotes sustainable agriculture projects around the world. Take a look at http://www.heifer.org/

Merry SL Xmas… or whatever

I wish you a Merry Christmas…. I wish you a Merry Christmas…!!! **sings with an horrible voice** ;-)

Some days ago Hazel Dean sent me a great and fun Machinima that she made as a Christmas card. So finally i decided to reply her with a nice song ;-) and say you all Merry SL Xmas or whatever you decide to celebrate!!!

The Machinima was filmed in Windlight and following the great advices from CodeBastard Redgrave (Thankies, Codie!!!). You can see a “Special Edition” of this machinima in this link. The rest of my small movies are available at the Vod:Pod widget on the right widgets column or in my YouTube channel.

Ok, now the “official” greetings phrase: I wish for you all the happiness, smiles, joy, love and all that nice things not only now, for all the year long and more if it’s possible.

Love, peace and Rock’n'roll!
