Brainless sheep
Some weeks ago one person called me (actually called me and a lot of people at the same time) a brainless sheep because we had a different point of view about something and we acted together in a way that person considered not enough creative and good. That person insulted others exclusively for that reason, becuase she had a disagree with them (me and others).
I just can say one thing…. BAAAAAAAAAH!
Erotica
Eroticism is something always interested me, I’m sure that you may know it if you ever visited my stream in Flickr. Sexuality is something absolutely animal, and eroticism is the sublimation of sexuality and that’s absolutely human.
Again and again i come back to eroticism in my SLphotography, exploring different ways. In my last two images (you can find them here in this post) i tried to show a different angle using what we can consider a classical femenine setting (pose, composition, outfit, …) with a really masculine shape.
Erotica is made of cliché, made of standard images and ideas. Of course they can be quite diverse, but at the same time they are really restrictive. Even there are some different “restrictions” the main ones are about gender.
I’m not the first mixing in an image elements of one gender on a model of the other gender, this is also a cliché, but i’m playing this cliché on myself, and will be interesting to see how people react.
But anyway the question is: Why limit erotism? I presume the gender roles are stronger in sexuality than in any other part of the human being, that may be the reason to this limit.
I think the images are at the same time hot, crazy and funny, that was my intention when shooting and editing them.
Injustice
This is a question that really makes me sad, so i’ll go directly to the center of the theme itself: Hundreds of men and women are are being beaten, tortured, murdered and executed every day somewhere in the world because their sexual orientation. For me, being homosexual is something just hard to accept, but is true and is sad. You just need to take a look at the laws about homosexuality in the world.
Arahan Claveau talk about this in his new installation at Arthole gallery (you can arrive through this SLurl). When you arrive there some notecards give you information about this. The exhibition is centered in the execution in Iran of two guys just for being gay. This two guys were around 18 years old when hanged.
As always Arahan pushes us to contact the pain in reality in that world of escapism that is Second Life, where (almost) nobody cares about an earthquake in China but we all start the biggest drama for a not announced shutdown of the grid. Arahan’s artwork is provocative (what i think is good), and at the same time show the possibilities of Second Life as a creation and expression platform.
This artwork can be considered a continuation of what Arahan started with “Super Fun Happy Club”, an older installation that had some censorship problems with Linden Lab some time ago. Find some images about SFHC here.
Maybe you know Arahan too for “Small Story“, a beautiful tale made with SLphotography.
Arahan is not only someone i’m proud to call a friend, is a great creator, an artist that enlights our (second) lifes showing us the light and the shadows of our (first) lifes… or maybe is in reverse?

I just can say WOWZA! Great Prize!!! I’d like to say thanks now to the Jury and to the stuff of Orange Island and Koinup.
This prizes were part of the Orange Island Photo Week, a really cool week with a lot of events related to SLphotography organized by the people of Orange Island. Really interesting pannels, specially one about Web Tools like Flickr, Koinup or Snapzilla.
Also great the class about comic made with SLphotography with Nick Rhodes (sadly didn’t had time to do my comic) and well, another quite acceptable class was mine about lighting.
