Some like a fashion post #17: Military Pig

Military Pig

“Oink! Oink!” Said the military pig while a missile was hitting the petrol tank in the background…

For some reason when i was matching this outfit the pig appeared in my Inventory so i presume it was he just needed to go out for a while. ;-) Also it was fun to try the new “Depth of field” effect with then new SL Viewer 2.7.1, as you can see it works great with shadows.

Johan, the new guy in Ispachi

Johan Review (Full body Safe)

Diarmiud Miklos is not only a good friend, he is also an awesome creator and owner of Ispachi. Johan is his new skin release for male (it was released yesterday, May 1st). I use to wear skins from Ispachi, has been using their Gabriel skin for long time, but once i saw Johan i was “really happy to meet him”. ;-)

The skin tone is really natural (wearing Mocha tone in the pics of this post). Johan was released with several options:

  • 8 Skin tones
  • 12 Facial Hair options
  • 2 Body Hair options
  • Hair/Bald Base options
  • Includes 1 free, scripted, sculpted penis which matches the skin tones.

Would like to give a bit hug from here to Diarmuid and Andred from Ispachi, because they are just too cool, and because i look great on this skin! :-D

Some of the measurements

What's your digits?

The sweet Strawberry Singh posted few days ago in her blog about “What’s your digits?”, or about proportions and measures on avatars in Second Life.

Sooo… this are some of my measures… some others are kinda private. ;-) Nah, joking… Proportion is something difficult to find in avatar shapes, it is pretty easy to transform your avatar into a caricature, and that’s ok… only if that’s what you pretend, of course. But the most important is to feel comfortable with your shape… and to have a shape with “Modify” permissions, of course!

First of all, i would like to thank my friend Khamudy Mannonen for his help with my shape, it was a gift he made specially for me, and would like to thank him also for making it “modifiable” so i could make a lot of adaptations to the different skins i had.

There’s a “Like” button in there… somewhere…

my Facebook Fan page

Facebook is a “strange” place for an avatar. First, because Facebook in their TOS only accepts real information (names, etc) of real people. Actually they deleted the account, or at least blocked the account, of some people who was identifying themselves as avatars, from Second Life or other virtual worlds like IMVU, etc… I had an account for my avatar totally independent of my “real persona” one, but finally decided to delete it for those TOS things i just mentioned.

Since then i was wondering how it would be possible to use the power of Facebook as social network for my avatar… and the option was a “Fan page”. This way i can control my avatar page from my “real persona” account and have access to all the information and to the ways to share it easily. Actually i’m showing there some “pre-releases” of my pics, comments, videos and other things, always Second Life related.

Since, after some comments of Rodvik Linden, it seems Facebook is a place where Linden Lab plans to develop some plans for Second Life i thought “let’s try it!”. So if you feel like when you see in my Facebook page please click the “Like” button.

Some are looking for a few "good" avatars…

Some days ago Linden Lab, well, Slaton Linden published a post in the Second Life Blogs asking for:

…a few good avatars to help us with a new ad campaign intended to bring the tremendous diversity and depth of the Second Life community to the forefront of more people’s minds…

Since i have a dirty mind once i read the post i so needed to parody it, i mean the example ad.

Some are looking for a few good avatars...

I wrote a long essay of 500 words about all this but was boring and possibly not all fair, so since i don’t want to bore you and i try to be as fair as possible i’ll try to express my ideas about this in short and clear ways. First, even i agree Second Life may seem to some people only a game, a place to have virtual sex or to grief i agree the other side of Second Life, the one of artists, educators, musicians, creators… should be promoted and make public. But since both sides are the real SL if they want to show the diversity they should consider an ad in the style of the one i made. ;-)

Second, they will find a problem since most of the SL residents prefer to keep privacy at some levels, and if they look for people in Facebook where the TOS clearly forbid to create accounts for “not real people” like avatars they will find only a small representation of the diversity they want to show. So even all together may be a good idea and i hope it works to bring new people to Second Life i think opening the discussion inside the SLblogs would be better than doing it in Facebook. Also i wonder… will those “good avatars” get paid for giving his both images for an ad? Because if they pay enough i can show whatever they want!!! *joking* :-P
