10 small differences
Some days ago in Rezzed.net (the new social network for Second Life) Luc Aubert proposed a new meme about Ten differences between our Second Life and our Real Life. This was my answer:
Ok, i’m not a super fan of memes, well, most of the times, but i think is a good way to know each other. So here i am…
- My eyes are not so green in RL, some colour between green and brown actually.
- My hair in RL is black, with a lot of white hair, in SL is mainly dark, but i have some like 30 different hairs in SL, so sometimes red, sometimes blue…
- I would never wear in RL some of the things i wear in SL, i find the freedom in SL to play with clothes much more than in RL.
- Different jobs, in SL i’m a furniture designer and builder and a photographer, in RL i’m a travel advisor for a big company.
- My SL avatar lives in a nice house, surrounded by wonderful beaches. My RL avatar lives in an apartment… but near some wonderful beaches also.
- The second name is, of course, different. The first name is the same.
- My SL avatar can teleport himself, to fly and such wonderful things… my RL one not
what confirms what i always thought, RL has wonderful no lag sims, with a great frame rate, but the avatar edition tools and the physics are a bit hard sometimes. - My SL avatar loves dark and dangerous places sometimes, my RL no, maybe because in RL is impossible to relog.
- In SL i LOVE to build furniture… in RL is hard the day after Ikea.
- Even being hairy in SL most of the days i’m much more hairy in RL.

I never used a gun in Second Life, even for photography. I know a gun in SL is virtual, but i don’t like guns, even the virtual ones.

Talking about guns, I was sailor in a Navy ship when i was 19 for a year. And i had to use guns then (real ones, but just for aiming practices).

If i look directly to the sun, it makes me sneeze (no kidding), this is also called ACHOO Syndrome (Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helioophthalmic Outburst), don’t worry, is not dangerous.

I have visited, at least once, four of the five continents (not including Antarctica). Still need to visit Oceania.

My Operational Temperature Range is from -35ºC (-31ºF) to 55ºC (131ºF), i mean this are the most extreme temperatures i was exposed. The lower one in Moscow (Russia), the highest one in Assuan (Egypt).

I don’t have Driving License in RL, i live in a city with a great Public Transportation System, so i don’t need a car.

I LOVE chocolate including almost all possibilities (brownies, white, dark, milk chocolates, chocolate ice cream, …), but i can say stop if i ate too much.

I like the smell of gasoline, i find it really aromatic. Maybe i should work in a Petrol Station…
