Residents' Choice Awards 2009, the results

Residents Choice Awards Winne...

Linden Lab just published the winners of the Residents’ Choice Awards 2009.

First of all, congrats to the winners!!! Specially to Prad Prathivi, becuase he was voted as the best blogger!

Personally i think this awards were a really good initiative from Linden Lab, maybe some people may take them as a competition (as any other award or contest) but actually is a help and a push to the creators and bloggers.

Lindens have placed a “Winner’s Circle” (the one in the pic), go there (SLurl) and see the complete list inworld too.

Gay…ety?

The Hot Males, originally uploaded by ::Prad Prathivi @ Amodica::

Prad Prathivi is not only a cool, funny, deliciously sarcastic, great creator and tons of more stuff guy. He is also a friend, even i think i would ask him for money (don’t worry, Praddles, no need right now ;-) ). Some days ago he asked me to have a picture, naked together, because we both were included in the list of the 10 Hottest Avatars in SL.

I find the picture pretty cool, is tasty, even sweet. Just two naked friends talking together. Anyway when Prad posted (in Plurk, Flickr, …) the pic was interesting to see other’s reactions.

Some were funny, about our supposed “hawtness” :-D , a few of them expressed doubts about Prad’s sexual preferences.

Ok, i know most of that comments were actually jokes but anyway that made me wonder: “Is it so important?”. People seems to care a lot about other’s sexuality, “bed preferences” and stuff like that, and, ok, i admit can be funny, but at the same time makes me feel weird.

Where life beginsPrad is straight publically, but was “suspicious” of being gay for that image. I posted the image at left and i was not “suspicious” of being straight (maybe yes, but nobody told me). That makes me think the possibility of being gay is still considered negative and something you can be “suspicious” about.

I know people had no bad intention, i know most of them were joking (even Prad, who likes to joke about it) and there is not intention of critic in this post. I’m only trying to say that some comments made me remember there are a lot of things we should change in our society about what is considered “normality” and how is considered “difference”.

… and the peace in the World!

“… and taking advantage of this moment i would like to ask for the peace in the world! Also i’d like to show all my gratitude to my typist, for making me what i am; to the organization of this contest (Iris Ophelia and the team of NWN blog) for the prize; and finally but not the less, to all my buddies, the nominates because they are the best.

I will carry this tiara and this sash with pride and honour…”

Ok, he he he, the delicious Iris Ophelia makes every year a list of the “10 Hottest Male Avatars of Second Life” for New World Notes, and this year she was so kind to include me, with other 9 great and ultra hot guys like my dear Prad Prathivi, the cute Bone Mosten, the ultra-modern-fashionista Monta Horan and other great guys. Iris published first the list of 5 of the guys, next week she will publish the other 5 ones.

Before ending this post… please, let me delight in the description Iris made about me:

Our last name in part 1 is Raul Crimson. Last year, I deeply regretted not choosing Raul for the list. He is more than deserving of a spot– let’s face it, he has the “Tall, dark, and handsome” market cornered, and to a degree the “Latin Lover” market as well. Furthermore, he’s one of the few avatars that I’ve ever seen that can pull off a muscular look without looking a caricature. But then… you see the giant fluffy bunny, the beachball, and the pop art in his skybox, and you wonder if perhaps there isn’t a little (or a lot) more to the brooding Mr. Crimson. Raul is one of Second Life’s most accomplished and widely known photographers, and his works is know for being remarkably powerful, and his Flickr site is well worth seeing (albeit not always 100% SFW).

Mmmmmmmm! ;-) Ok, ok, maybe some can say i’m being vain and stuff… but really, who doesn’t like to be called a hottie?

Unbalanced Harmony by Prad Prathivi

Prad Prathivi is a cool guy, all the times we met was fun, sweet and slightly naughty (what is GOOD, of course :-D ).

Yesterday i visited his new art installation:

Unbalanced Harmony - Raul Crimson

Even it doesn’t seem is as big as the sim, or almost (had to use Ctrl + 8 to zoom out to have all the work in the screen)

Go there and let your mind think, imagine… is what i did.

Not only a beautiful work, also a expression of Prad’s mind, it really worths a visit.
