Windlight settings, so fun to play with them…
Some time ago I posted some information about a Windlight sky preset that AM Radio had published in Flickr to share with everybody.
I think AM Radio had a great idea. Windlight is a great tool, it gives you the possibility of exploring light, shadows, it gives a totally new vision of Second Life and opens a new door for creativity.
Some days ago I was playing with different settings in SLsky and following the path AM Radio opened I’d like to share them with you.
First, and old known, Nostalgia:
Here I’m using the Nostalgia sky by AM Radio, you can download it here, then follow the instructions at the end of the post to install it.
Sometimes I’m tired of the sun in SL, the weather is always perfect, so I made this setting, Storm:
You can download the Storm sky setting here, then install it following the instructions at the end of the post.
And finally one a bit trippy, he he he, but my favourite, Bright Life. Even the colors are no natural (at least in my RL life) I like it a lot.
Click here to download the Bright Life setting, then install it following the instructions at the end of the post.
All the settings can be downloaded in the BOX widget in the right column if you don’t want to open a new window in your explorer.
To install them follow this instructions:
- Download the files in the links up or in the BOX widget in the right side column of this page.
- Then move the file .xml to the following folder:
-
In a Windows PC move it to C: \ Program Files \ SecondLifeWindLight \ app_settings \ windlight \ skies
-
In Mac go to the Application folder or to the one you have saved the Second Life Windlight viewer, Ctrl+click on it and select “Explore the package” or something like that (sorry, my Mac OS X is in spanish). Then open the folders Contents, Resources, app_settings, windlight, skies and save the file there.
-
- Restart Windlight viewer.
- Select Nostalgia, Storm or Bright Life in the Sky Presets menu.
Sorry, i don’t know how to do in it Linux, but sure someone can comment here and give the info.
Come on, play with Windlight, share your dream (or nightmare) sky with all.
